Billie is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Arizona as well as a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). Billie has over twenty-four years of counseling experience and specializes in working with adults, teens, children, and families suffering from family discord, lack of communication, relationship challenges, and eating disorders. Billie has worked in a variety of therapeutic environments, including eating disorder specialty centers, as well as elementary schools, juvenile detention centers, and in the homes of families. Billie enjoys working with families as well as individuals in order to help improve communication and breaking unhealthy family patterns with the goals of improving self and improving relationships, including family relationships. Billie utilizes a variety of clinical techniques and modalities and focuses and implements which technique will best suit the clients and the needs of the client.
Billie strives to create an empathic, safe, non-judgmental, and supportive environment for clients. She believes that it is imperative that the clients play an active role in their own journey of recovery and wellness. Billie deeply appreciates the process of seeing the clients and families grow as they journey together on their path of recovery and healing. With compassion as a guiding principle for Billie and her interactions with the clients, she believes that every individual has the capacity to recover and heal from their pain and challenges.
When not working, Billie can be found watching her daughter practice and compete in gymnastics, watching her son learn to barrel race and pole bend, or spending quality time with her husband of nearly eighteen years. Billie has also been learning and attending yoga and pilates classes as self-care and “me-time.”
